Most woman have a shoe fetish!!!

Me, I have a ………
Major Thread Obsession
Insane I know…. no one needs this many spools of thread!
There are four thread organizers that hang in my craftroom. Three thread organizers hold embroidery thread and the one holder, off to the side by itself, hold sewing thread.
I have even more spools of thread not shown…….. for my serger machine. If you know anything about a serger machine then you know that you have to have 4 of each color!! I keep these spools stored in 4 drawer bin next to the serger for easy access.
Yes, I try to keep them displayed by colors but when it’s this full every time I add a new color do you know how many spools I have to move to make room?!?!?
I love this angle! In fact, I could see this enlarged, framed, and hanging on the wall in my craftroom.
Can you believe there a a few empty slots? Actually the missing spools are in use and are setting next to my sewing machine.
I purchased these thread display organizers but I ran across a post by Mandy of Sugar Bee Craft Edition Blog and she has a great tutorial on how to make your own Thread Rack Organizer. How great to be able to customize a rack to fit your collection! When I redo my craftroom I could do a whole wall Thread Rack!!!
Tell me…. what do you collect?

Woo .... this is wonderful, a dream of every woman!!!

WOW!! I think you have a better stock of threads than my local craft shop, they look lovely! I like collecting scrapbook papers and material, but then it's to nice to cut up!!
ReplyDeleteWOW, look how organized you are! Your thread organizers are so NICEEE, love it! =)
ReplyDeleteI collect plates...for the seasons! lol!
Have a great day and thanks for sharing, very cool! XOXO Liz
WOW you are not kidding! But what awesome photo ops they give you...I love the colors Carrie! Have a great day. Debbie
ReplyDeleteYour wall of thread looks like a piece of art! The colors are awesome! I don't know that I collect anything; however, I have way too many plates, lamps and canisters. :) Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that you posted this. I am in the process of organizing sewing supplies that I recently inherited from my mother in law. Combining her thread collection with mine makes a gigantic supply. I like how you've displayed your thread so that you can see what you have. I may try to do something similar.
ReplyDeleteI collect pottery pots and will be doing a post about decorating with them tomorrow. I hope you'll stop by!
Not only organized but looks pretty too! I have too many collections to list! My favorites are my vintage clocks, cameras, skeleton keys and ironstone plates.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day.

I think it is beautiful! lol. Look at all those colors! My husband laughs at me when I go by any scrapbook paper..I have tons and tons but I always see something different. He doesn't understand why I haven't used up what I have first..I just can't explain it to him..ha.
ReplyDeleteLove how organized your thread are..awesome!
Woah...that's a lot of thread! I LOVE scrapbooking paper...it's bad!
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome and pretty!
ReplyDeleteHoly cow!! That IS quite a collection! I love your idea about blowing up and framing a photo of them, they're just too pretty! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty rainbow you have!! Begin confession: I am a patterned paper hoarder/collector. It is so hard to use when I see and feel such beautiful colors and patterns, even though I have 100+ pads and some loose sheets...end confession (for now).

I also have too many collections to list. I do have wooden spools, some with thread, some not. Also, chickens all year and angels at Christmas. I guess I collect watercolor paintings because what do you do with them after they are finished? Then there are the craft things: fabric, shells, scrap wood, and just about anything that someone wants to give me. I am afraid that any day the TV show Hoarders will be at my door.
ReplyDeleteI love thread too!!
ReplyDeleteI love how you have it so neatly organized! It looks really cool. I would love for you to stop by my Organizing Mission Monday link party and link it up! Also.. link up your link party on my links tab at the top. I have the days separated for your link buttons.

I'm not on blogger, so you won't get an easy click through - so I left the link. thanks
Love it! My mom would be so jealous. She is a serious quilter but hardly ever has thread. Weird right? I must admit that I'm a shoe girl but also love jewelry!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up to my Organizing Mission Monday link party!
ReplyDeleteAwesome job on your organizing!!! :) I love how they are all nice and neat and pretty to look at..

All those colors are so pretty! I collect art supplies...all of them, everything, the whole sha-bang. I just know I can use them...and I usually do. My studio looks like a craft store.
ReplyDeleteThat is quite the collection and I love how they are arranged in colors, very pretty to look at! :) I used to collect white pictures but I have so many I am running out of room!
ReplyDeleteI'm most defiantly a shoe collector!! LOL
ReplyDeleteWell if you us all the thread, I think it's a great thing to have! If I collect anything...well, I don't collect much of anything save old boxes and bottles because I'm sure I'll use them someday. That and tea. I love hot tea.
ReplyDeleteWow...you have a beautiful rainbow in your craft room...LOL. I hate to admit it but I collect, linen/cloth napkins and tablecloths....I just can't help it!!!! I like color on my table and they are easier to store than a million plates...LOL
ReplyDeleteI *totally* understand your thread obsession!! I don't have nearly as much as you do, but I blame that on the fact that I don't have an embroidery machine yet! :) I would love if you would link up with my "organizing party" I am hosting this month. I am also your newest follower!!
ReplyDeleteLove this blog! Found your blog through littlebirdiebabyshop. It caught my eye because we have so much in common. I homeschool my 3 children and also have two dogs. Your thread looks like a piece of artwork. Awesome! I guess I have an obsession with ribbon, but it is not that organized yet. Have a great day!
