The Half Way Mark

I’ve been 6 months without any soda!!!

Yes, the first two months were hard but now I’m over it!  {kinda…. sorta….} The only time I miss a soda pop drink is when it’s pizza night.

What do I drink???             Water… Water…. Water….            and when I’m tired of water I’ll have a glass of  lemonade, milk, or orange juice.

I don’t drink teas, coffees, or any other caffeinated beverage.  Where do I get my caffeine fix?!?!?!?

I thought about making this my resolution for next year

 “A Year Without Chocolate”

Not. Going. To.  Happen.

Hey it was a thought.  But I know myself all to well.  I try to set goals that I know I can achieve.  Each year it’s a something different. Last  year it was to have $xxxx.xx in the savings and the year before that it was to read 50 books.

What was your New Year’s resolution?  and how are you making it happen?

What you think about You bring about,

Carrie

  1. You go girl!
I gave up soda and ALL fried foods at the beginning of this year, and have YET to sip a carbonated drink, or snack on anything crispy and chuck full of yummy, tasty grease. LOL.
It mostly SUCKS when my kids don't finish their chicken nuggets, or a donut... and all I want to do is pop those last couple of bites in my mouth.
But it get's easier almost daily! :)
(I'm lying little about it getting easier... I just want you to THINK that I totally have more will power than I do)
    HA!
    SO proud of you, GIRL!

  2. Congratulations on keeping up with your goals. I made a lot of resolutions and although I haven't been 100% consistent with my "complete organization" project and fitness goals, I've done much better than prior years.

As a former soda ADDICT, I now only drink green tea (great caffeine buzz, tasty, and good for you), pure cranberry or pomegranate juice mixed with water- and waterwaterwater. It gets easier each month, you won't even crave the sugar fizz anymore.

Ah, that's a good reminder that anything is possible...

  5. Way to go!!! That's not easy.

Right now I'm trying to cut down on sugar, eat more fruits and veggies, drink more water, exercise more and go to bed at a decent hour. Whew! Once all those are more established as habits, I should definately kick the caffiene habit. =/

  6. My New Year's resolution was to be more positive. And there's absolutely NO WAY that could happen if I gave up Diet Coke. So unfortunately, our resolutions cannot co-habitate.

(I'm still not that positive. But I try)

  8. Good for you. I've been off pop except for pizza night for several years now. Pizza and pop are like hugs and kisses aren't they? They just belong together.

  9. unless the carbonation is what you are trying to avoid you should try carbonated water with a few drops of rootbeer stevia, or maybe orange stevia and vanilla cream stevia. A guilt free soda experience. Yummo
