{Being Proud without being Tacky}
My boys are very talented. So talented that we have these all over the house.
There here
and here
and more here
and lets not forget here
Big ones
Small ones
Interesting ones
Yes, I’m proud of them ……but…… don’t you think it’s getting a bit tacky?
What to do with all of them?
It’s a bit over whelming…. and something needs to be done! There in the bedrooms, the garage, the attic, the foyer {I usually show-case the newest one}, and in closets and drawers!
We’ve have thinned this collection down already once before. There are hundreds {and I’m not kidding} in our attic! The boys have even stopped getting some of their trophies because there are sooooooo many! Unless the trophy really means something to them they don’t bring it home. Sad I know. I can’t part with them but there is only so much room in my house!
How do you handle your children’s ever growing-collection?
This is kind of cute…… The spell check on my phone {blackberry} always wants to change “Dittle Dattle” to “Little Cattle”. LOL Which I think if I started a family blog that would probably be the perfect title for this family! I’m always trying to herd up the cattle {I mean kids} and get them to stop with what ever their dittle dattling with. I thought it was funny… and wanted to share with everyone.
Thanks for visiting,
Carrie

Carrie, you must be proud girl and I would be too! My girls went through this with Cheerleading and Dance and between ribbons, plaques, trophy's...I thought for sure I needed to build on another room! Ha!
ReplyDeleteWe finally made each girl show case their "stuff" in their rooms. But with 3 girls I had too! I treasure those memories! Be blessed .Cindy
Well, having such talented children is a good problem to have! :-) I think you just have to store them and just display the most recent or the ones that are most important to them. Hope you're having a good week.
ReplyDeleteOh mylanta:] that's alot of winning!
ReplyDeletemy little brother has a nice little collection of racing trophies going on too.
And yes it can become tacky, but at least we realize that!

maybe keep the most prized trophies & take pictures of the rest to keep in a bragin' album :)
ReplyDeleteI found your blog through Somewhat Simple and as I started going through your archives, I found this post. My 3 sisters and I all played numerous sports growing up, and our home began to look quite a bit like yours. As we each left for college my mom would take our trophy's, letting us choose a couple that were extra special or unique, and with the rest, she pried the plates off the trophy's and had them adhered to a large plaque. That way, we still have dates, events and team names to look back on, but not all the hardware that went with them. She then took the trophy's and donated them to be used by others. It's still one of my most favorite things. I hope this helps and good luck.
